Robert Harrington has been involved in rural economic development for more than 14 years throughout the Midwest. Since May 2021, Harrington has been the executive director of Bourbon County Regional Economic Development Inc, where he oversees the economic and community development for Bourbon County and the City of Fort Scott, Kansas.
Prior to his time in Kansas Robert served multiple communities in Iowa, Missouri, and Texas. Over his 14 years in economic development, he has been heavily involved in multiple renewable energy projects including solar, biomass, and wind energy. Harrington has his MPA from Park University and is a master practitioner in economic development as designed by Advanced Economic Development Leadership.
