Karen Jackson
Virginia State Director
Ms. Karen Jackson is an accomplished technology and innovation strategist with a wealth of experience in leadership roles across various industries. Currently serving as the President of Apogee Strategic Partners, LLC, she provides technology consulting and advisory services to companies, universities, governmental entities, and non-profits. Her areas of specialization include Innovation, Broadband workforce, planning, and deployment, Autonomy, Data Science, Cyber Security, Entrepreneurship, Technology-based economic development, renewables, IT infrastructure management, and Smart Community Development.
Ms. Jackson previously served as the Secretary of Technology for the Office of Governor Terry McAuliffe, where she oversaw the Commonwealth’s IT infrastructure and launched policies, legislative initiatives, and programming to accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, technology development and adoption. She also served as Interim Executive Director of the New College Institute where she launched an initiative to transition NCI into a Center for Rural Innovation.
She remains involved in public service and continues to serve several boards and commissions. Ms. Jackson is a highly skilled leader and advisor, committed to driving positive change and helping organizations achieve their goals.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University, and a Master of Business Administration from William and Mary.
