Our Kentucky Team here at the Center for Infrastructure and Economic Development (The Center) have been hard at work traveling the state meeting with local officials, analyzing policies and emerging issues within the renewable energy industry, and assisting local communities with policy guidance.
As a part of our statewide engagements, Policy Advisor Jim Parsons and I have participated in a number of conferences to introduce audiences to The Center and to educate local officials on the renewable energy industry and its benefits. Policy Advisor Jim Parsons and I had the opportunity and honor to be the keynote speakers for the American Planning Association-Kentucky Chapter Annual Conference. Additionally, our team provided the Kentucky City County Managers Association with a webinar presentation on “Trends and Planning Keys for Utility Scale Renewable Energy Development.”
While we have enjoyed great success in the early stages of The Center, we are looking to continue to build on these successes and further our reach across the state. Our team stands ready to assist local governments with policy and ordinance development, access to a team of experts and a source of fact based, balanced information so local officials can make well rounded decisions.
Kentucky currently has 37 approved plans for utility scale solar developments across the state and with certainly more to come. If your community is struggling with how to address these incoming facilities, or just want to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or our Policy Advisor, Jim Parsons, and we are happy to help and answer your questions.
Thank you,
